Our Vision:

By 2042, we will have established Michigan as a leader in equitable climate solutions and achieved durable, diverse, and widespread public support for a just transition, ensuring a sustainable home for all Michiganders.

While we recognize no one person or organization can tackle this cause alone, we believe with fierce conviction in the power of a well-informed, well-supported collective. Acknowledged as the megaphone for Michigan’s movement, MiCAN offers its platform to amplify on-the-ground voices through programs like the Climate Champion Awards ceremony, Youth Climate Influencers digital cohort, and Community Voices Series highlighting local success stories, to name a few. Assuming our role as the switchboard connecting individuals in our extensive network with our aligned member organizations (which increased from 79 to 130 last year!), MiCAN hosts the state’s premier annual Climate Summit, K-12 and higher education tables, a recently-launched Central Climate Hub digital community space, and the Climate Culture Club, intended to inspire the durable cultural shifts needed to realize a more just, equitable, resilient, and sustainable future, for all Michiganders.
